After one bite you’ll never forget this remarkable candy. Carrie Abbott, the creator of Frittle, experienced great local and regional success with her debut candy and recently decided to expand her line. (Original Frittle brand by Pivot) With the addition of Butter Mints and Pralines, Carrie found herself in need of a parent brand to help communicate how all these tasty treats belong to the same family.
Pivot helped craft this message by creating a name and tagline,Newfangled Confections: genuinely sweet. This new brand captures the nostalgic feel of the candies along with the modern techniques of their maker.
The Newfangled logo was designed to fit nicely with Frittle’s unique letter script word mark, and its shape hints at the crinkled ends of a candy wrapper. Butter Mints and Pralines adopted the same look as Frittle, but with their own distinct colors, complementing the brand’s “throwback” palette.
Part of what made Frittle a success was Carrie’s love of handmade goods and the nostalgia of candy making. She makes her confections by hand, and each box is personally stamped and packaged with the brand, giving a handcrafted touch to the sweet treats.
Social media also played a major role in developing Frittle’s presence in the local community and beyond. These efforts will continue under the Newfangled brand to create a buzz around this delicious line of confections.
