Indy’s getting to be a hard city to keep up with. Local shops, restaurants, and bars are popping up by the bundle. The number and quality of live concerts is through the roof. And everywhere you look, a brew-master is playing mad scientist in his warehouse-turned-microbrewery.
While trying to come up with a topic for my first blog post, I figured why not highlight some local bloggers who make it possible for people like me to act like I have a clue in this town. Here are the blogs that keep me full, inspired, and occasionally attempting to two-step.
doingIndy: Your all-inclusive guide to whats happening in Indy. Subscribe to their email list to get the content sent directly to you.
FLOEatsIndy: A family’s guide to good eats around Indy and surrounding cities.
Indianapolis Museum of Art: The IMA’s blog gives you the latest news on their exhibits and events as well as providing topics for discussion.
Hoosier Beer Geek: Their mission is to drink great beer and talk about it. I think I’ve said enough.
My Old Kentucky Blog: When MOKB isn’t busy booking every band you never thought would play in Indy, they’re running one of the best music blogs in the country. Visit them to check out upcoming shows, discover new music, and read the latest reviews.
Historic Indianapolis: Indianapolis then and now.
Neal Taflinger: aka “Taffy.” Just an interesting dude that seems to know everyone in, and everything about this city. Oh, and he also co-ownsHomespun, is a contributing writer to the Star and somehow finds time to help market the fine folks at Sun King Brewery.
Punchnel’s: Our fellow Fountain Squarians, Well Done Marketing, put together an all-star cast of bloggers to post about pretty much anything you want them to. They’re open to submissions if you have anything interesting to say.
Hem and Her: This is a shameless plug for my wife, but you should really follow her. She posts about fashion, food, and our adventures in the city. She’s also a seriously talented dress maker.
Now the next time someone asks you, “What’s going on tonight?” you have no excuse for not knowing. What local bloggers do you follow?
