There’s a brief time of year sandwiched between the last rush of summer and the dizzying dash of the holidays. You know—that time when we get serious about savoring things and rhapsodizing about colors and various squash-flavored foods. It’s called October.
Sitting on my porch last night with a cold cider and an unusually mild breeze, I decided this is going to be a great month. And maybe it’s too soon to say for sure, but I think it’s going to be an exciting time for all of us at Pivot, especially if recent news from our clients is any indication.
For starters, the night of Exodus’ annual fundraiser will finally arrive next week, and the event promises good food, great storytelling, and an even greater cause. Following that comes NEAR’s Caulk of the Town, a one-day collaboration on the Near Eastside for neighbors to pull together and ready their homes for winter.
Meanwhile, some of our other clients have been hitting remarkable milestones. Stacie Marsh at Words for Good recently helped a big client secure a $3.6 million grant to prevent teen suicides. Personal injury attorneys Bob Johnson and Travis Jensen just celebrated the three-year anniversary of their firm. Blood Hound has expanded their business to Louisville, and over in the construction industry, Skillman just celebrated the dedication of the new IU Kelley building, while McKenzie has unveiled their latest community at Mill Ridge Farms.
As for us, well, we’re passing a few big milestones of our own. One of us is traveling abroad in Europe for a few weeks. One of us is expecting a new baby. Probably one of us will finally finish the bathroom remodeling project she’s been working on for eight months, but we’ll see.
Got any good news you’re celebrating this month? We’d love to hear about it.
